EAT A CHIQUITA: BANANA STICKER CONTEST

In July of 2010, designers from all over the world submitted 1,355 submissions on eatachiquita.com's little blue sticker contest. My design featuring a banana inside of a stomach was choosen to be one of the 50 design finalists. After fans submitted more than 100,000 votes, the top 18 were chosen to adorn Chiquita bananas in stores across the country. I, sadly, didn't make the top 18 designs, but it was a fun ride while it lasted.

The contest got over 200 unique articles, posts and mentions. An article titled "A Design Campaign for Bananas" in the New York Times included my selected design and name.

Each of the 50 design finalists got a Chiquita Banana t'shirt and two custom items printed with their selected design. Sadly, my head is too big for the hat.

It's always amusing to see how far you stray from the initial sketch.
